About the show:

Days before his 34th birthday, national and provincial award winning photographer Casey Lessard decided to challenge himself and raise his work to a new standard. The result is Casey365.com, a daily art photo blog, the best of which (so far) is showing July 4-26, 2009 at Bliss Studio in Port Franks, Ontario.

An eclectic mix of portrait, landscape, and macro photography, Casey365.com recently passed the halfway mark. Over that time, the photographs have greatly improved and shown a clear sense of vision growing in a photographer who was already recognized for his photojournalism work.

Born in Huron Park, Ontario, Casey attended the University of Western Ontario (Classical Studies ‘96), Fanshawe College (Broadcast Journalism ’98) and Loyalist College (Photojournalism ’03). A journalism career spanning 11 years – including stops in London, Ontario (CHRW, 6X-FM), London, England (BBC World Service), Kitchener (CKCO-TV), Elmira, Haliburton, and now Grand Bend – has produced national and provincial reporting and photographic honours. Most significantly, Casey was named the Ontario Community Newspaper Association’s second best photographer in 2007 and 2008.

In addition to publishing a community newspaper, the Grand Bend Strip, Casey teaches photography and newspaper design at Humber College in Toronto, and community photography classes in Grand Bend.

Casey would love to share his work with you; you are invited to his opening reception July 4 from 2-6 p.m. at Bliss Studio in Port Franks.
